North Maroon Peak – Ski POV

We dropped in at about 10:30am and followed some barely visible tracks for the ski decent. During the climb, we encountered everything from impenetrable ice to knee-deep sugar snow, but the descent only saw ice, corn, and slush. At 1:15 you can see the exposure we were climbing around on the east face. At 2:20 you can see a wet slide I kicked off that ran all the way to the bottom of the mountain. At 4:38 you can see me get in the backseat, hit some ice, and take a pretty vicious tumble. All was OK afterwards, I only ran out of memory card space to film the rest of the ski.

This descent wrapped up my “official” ski season, but I am still going to try and ski every month for this year. I will maybe post a season recap next month, or I might take a break from blogging. We’ll see. Either way, thanks for reading throughout the season, and I can only hope next season is as good as this one.

  1. Probably not the best idea to show this footage to my grandma…she freaked out. Anyway, hows summer in CO? There is TONS of snow left up here in the NW but no one skis.
