Munich and the Romantic Road

October 27, 2011

It was still very summer-like in Munich, with crowds of lightly-dressed tourists throughout the streets. The city seemed more crowded than when I was there for Oktoberfest in 2008, but that might have been because Thereisienwiese was to be empty for another week until the first keg was to be tapped.

Speechless in Berlin

I have been trying to verbalize the way I felt about Berlin since I left, and after a month and a half of trying to find the words, I've come to the conclusion that I simply cannot. We also met up with Johannes, who worked in the tourist shop in Die Grüne Zitadelle. He had told me that he had to deal with stupid people all day. I would later sign the book in his shop with those words, which has since garnered some attention from other tourists according to Maria and Johannes.

I got almost all of the sausage down, but the last bite slipped off the miniature plastic fork and onto the ground. Julia was in awe, but pretty stoked about it, and I got some funny looks from her friends in Mainz when I was introduced as "Jon, who studied abroad with Julia in Sweden, and had level F at Best Worscht in Town."

European Adventure Part 2: Bruges, Luxembourg, and Munich

Hello again! I am sorry for the delay between Part 1 and Part 2 of this post, but I recently got a job for DU admissions to blog about life as a DU student (both abroad and when I get back) so I decided to meet the deadline I was given and put this entire […]
